Hasu, or lotus, is considered a perfect plant. Even though it grows in swamps, it is pristinely clean. It is a symbol of rebirth, creation, prosperity and fortune. The unique choice of presenting only leaves and not a lotus flower makes the pattern much more subdued and universal.
